One of India’s brightest signs with one of the world’s biggest.

India-based Hero MotoCorp, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of motorcycles and a significant supporter of worldwide golf has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Abbotswood’s rising star, Rayhan Thomas.

The deal secures Rayhan entry into the Hero Indian Open on the DP World Tour for the next three seasons as well as being part of a worldwide Hero sponsorship stable that includes Tiger Woods, Akshay Bhatia and Sahith Theegala.

‘As someone with family roots in Kerala, India and having represented the country as an amateur, I’m excited and very proud to have a flagship company like Hero as a sponsor, especially this week’, said Rayhan, ahead of the Hero India Open that begins this week at the spectacular DLF Golf & Country Club, New Delhi.

It’s also a fabulous opportunity to play against some of the world’s best on the DP World Tour – a change of scene and continent from Rayhan’s usual weekly schedule on the PGA Korn Ferry Tour.

Rayhan is a natural brand ambassador for Hero as he shares many of the company’s values. They place great emphasis on progress through unwavering dedication, skill and continuous improvement. Overcoming challenges and striving for excellence also figure high on their priorities, which again are all part of Rayhan’s character. Add his Indian heritage, family home in Dubai and the talent of a rising star in worldwide golf and it’s clear to see why the sponsorship deal is such a natural fit.

Speaking recently about the organisation’s association with young, world-class golf talent, Dr. Pawan Munjal - Executive Chairman, Hero MotoCorp said, ‘Hero MotoCorp is recognized globally as an innovative, tech-focused, and sports-oriented brand. As the company expands its brand attributes, it continues to engage with global youth icons who inspire a new generation of young achievers.’ Teeing it up this week in the Hero Indian Open will be a proud moment for Rayhan. Not just because he wears the title sponsor on his own shirt, or the fact that they are such a household name in his home country, but because one of the leading supporters of emerging talent in world golf now calls Rayhan one of their own.
